Murphy's Law

I was in campus the whole day doing my tedious FYP, and attending lectures. It's really a tiring day, especially when there's so much things to do & so little time.

Note that i used "so much things to do". i know this is not gramatically correct, but there are just so many things that i need to get it done, that i lost count. So i consider them, uncountables. And for uncountable nouns you use much. Thank you very much.

The weather was real hot today, the sun was scorching hot, the heat was worst than being inside a microwave oven. Oh, not forgetting to mention i had two meals of Nasi Lemak for two main course today. Nasi Lemak. Lunch & dinner. i'm so over Nasi Lemak for the time being.

And then i learned about Murphy's Law today. Murphy's Third Law to be precise. Murphy said:

Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.

Well said. For instance, the Tammy artistic fucking love making session that was the hottest search over Technorati now. When they tape themselves fucking making love, the only thing that could go wrong was Tammy having lost her handphone, which coincidentally did. The next wrong thing that could've happen was everyone spreading the video all over the web, which coincidentally did.

See. Murphy is so damn pandai lor. This law is so universally correct that i can apply it to everything i see.

You want another instance? Here you go.

You're at a party with cun gals, and free boost. Now, you are getting a gal drunk so that you can get to third base. There you go kissing the poor drunked gal all the way, and you see third base just ahead of you.

Remember Murphy said, anything that can go wrong will go wrong?

What could go wrong in this scenario? I think the worst thing that could happen when you are kissing a drunked gal would be having her puking into you throat. Gross. That might happen you know.

Anyway, remember Murphy's Law. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. End.

Naik Harga~!~!~!

WTF~!~! Petrol & Diesel naik harga again leh. Damn pissed lor. This time naik so much wor. 30 cents per litre leh. Wah, how to live wor like this. Damn it~!~!

Although i don't have a car to drive for the time being, but i'm definitely sure everything will also naik harga as well lor. Everyone will blame the rise of petrol price & complain that the transportation will be damn expensive so their cost also naik. So their selling price also naik. Naik my foot lar. What also naik, don't see salary got naik?

I remember the last time the harga petrol naik, it was such a commotion, everything also naik harga along. Then our PM, Pak Lah, stepped out & warned everyone not to simply naik harga because petrol naik harga. I think he might also do it this time, stepping out & telling people not to simply naik harga.

Well, what i think Pak Lah wanted to say is that, "Don't learn from the government to simply raise the price."

I'm not surprise when next week when i take the stupid 868 to KL, they are charging me 6 bucks. I still remembered 868 used to only charge RM3.50 to KL, and now it's freaking RM4.50. Soon it's going to be more than that.

So what's next? Train also naik harga, if flight ticket don't naik harga the airport tax will, Taxi also naik harga.

And what? Sawi, kang-kung, kai-lan all also naik harga.

Then what? Rental also naik harga lor, electricity & telephone bill also will jump. Then i think streamyx also will charge higher than it's already are with the sucky services.

And i'm definite that companies are going to retrench people as well, stating that need to cut down cost as everything is going up. I got no need to worry about retrenchment, i haven't even got a freaking job. Damn~!~!~!

I think everyone is having a hard time from this naik harga commotion. Well, not everyone. I think those who pocket so much into their own pocket sure will do fine. No wonder after so many years yearning to be a fully developed country, Malaysia is still a developing country. Yet, we are so proud to be the leader of the Third World Countries.

Proud my foot lar. Open your eyes & look around lar please. 20 years ago, the countries with the status same as us, "Developing country", have already achieve "Developed Country" status. Don't because we got a vision 2020, we are going to delay our development until then, rite?

I'm not an economist. I don't know the law of marketing & i definitely don't know how to sell. But i definitely know that the society is such a scary place to step into, and to think that i've only got a few more months until graduation really freaks me out. I'm going to start paying bills and placing downpayment for a house soon. Freaky~!~!

Anyway, really good luck to those driving. Save money by car-pooling, okay? Save your wallet, and also save earth at the same time.

Simply Complicated

I find it real hard to be a simple person. It's simply complicated to be simple. I would blame it on the society of course. Since the society isn't a simple place, the people in it ain't got a choice not to become complicated. It's sometimes so frustrating trying to be a simple person when everyone around you are complicated.

This reminds me of Gavin DeGraw's song. You know the one that he sang about he don't want to be anything other than what him? Yea. That song. I don't wana be.

I don't want to be anything other than myself too. But when what i'm trying to be is not good enough, should i change?

Or if i'm hurting people when i'm trying to be myself, then should i change?

What would you do if you were me? Would you keep the way you are without doing anything to yourself? Or would you label the change you did to yourself & label it as "improvement"? That way you can still keep being yourself but an improved version. Wouldn't that be great?

I don't know. You tell me!

See. I told you it ain't easy being simple. It's just simply complicated, rite?

Who am i anyway? I mean who am i to complain about it's hard being simple? Who am i to complain life is harsh? Life is so good to me up until this point in my life. I should be grateful instead. Rite?

Yes, damn hell i should.

It's just sometimes that life doesn't go our way, then we feel that life sucks. But then again when we have settled down our emotions, we will realize we are merely a small part of the whole universe. At the other side of the world at this moment, some child might just died of famine. Someone might just got robbed. Something real bad might have just happened to someone. What are you doing right now? Are you complaining about you life now?

I want to be a simple person. In fact, everyone wants to be simple. But i know i cannot be simple. I cannot be what i want to be when it's not beneficial to other people. I don't want to be myself when i'm hurting other people's feeling, or when i'm dragging people down.

I definitely cannot be complaining about my life when there are people suffering at the other side of the world.

I know there's nothing much i can do to make the world a better place. But i sure know i can do my part. If everyone can do their part, the world will surely be a better place. A better world starts with yourselves.

I'm doing my part everyday by being straightforward, being truthful to people around me. I try not to give in to deceptions and lies, because one leads to another. Will you do your part too?

I'm Back~!~!~!

First of all, i would like to apologize for not updating my blog for so long. Like i've mentioned, i was fairly occupied with a lot of things to settle, which includes academic, future job interviews, prom nite, & also some personal stuffs.

Anyway, i'm back again with my same old boring stuffs. Today, i want to talk about food.

HongKie KopiTiam

Last weekend, i went to have lunch at this restaurant with Amanda, JM, Jane & her sis, HuiWen. i'm not sure if there are any other available branch of this restaurant elsewhere but this particular one here is at Jusco, Seremban 2.

Well, this kind of Hong Kong style diners are blooming in our country, offering the same variation of food. You can come here, or Kim Gary or MongKok, and still find the same thing in the menu.

Anyway, to cut the story short, this are what we ordered. For thirst quencher, i had Yin-Yang, same for Amanda & JM, while Jane & HuiWen shared an ice lemon tea.

Drinks Drinks

For starters, we had mushroom soup. Honestly, can someone tell me if the price for salt had dropped recently? Coz this soup is like so salty i thought it's ham-choi soup.

Ham-Choi Soup

As for food, of course we all ordered cheese baked rice.

Ji-si Guk Fan

As for myself, i had a mix sauce chicken chop rice. The white sauce is cheese of course & the red sauce is something like beef bolognese.

Mix Sauce Rice

Overall, the food quality of this diner is something around average to me. It's not too good, but not too bad as well. How about you try it & let me know.

Melting Ice

Keep it cool. Don't melt an ice with your temper. Just chill, dude~!~!~!

Lap Chun

At the 7th day of CNY, it's the day Chinese people perform a ritual called Lap-Chun. This is the day where we officially celebrate the arrival of Spring day. You might think this day have got nothing special. You might think it's just some stupid old custom of ignorant chinese people who don't know anything but still follow what their ancestor tell them to do and they just follow.

Then you are wrong.

Lap-Chun is an auspicious day, in fact it's a miraculous day. Why? Stay tuned.

As usual, the table must be set up first. The item are similar to Jip Choi-San.

Lap-Chun Table

Some of the items which we didn't have during Jip Choi-San but got during Lap-Chun are these.

Angpow

Eggs

Eggs are the main character on this special day. No, we are not having a feast cooked only with eggs. No, chicken eggs will do, no need buy ostrich eggs. Yes, we are not taking out the frying pan from the kitchen.

What is so special about the eggs? Wait-lah~!~!~!

First of all, incense must be burned.

Burn incense first

After giving thanks, and asking for blessings, it's time for miracle.

Tada.

Standing Eggs

Yes, the egg is standing upright. The eggs can only stand upright without any support on this day. If you don't believe me, try take an egg from the fridge & make it stand.

Standing Eggs

We tried a few eggs & most successfully stood upright. Bravo, bravo.

This entry is proudly brought to you by the most bat-gung fella.

Jip Choi San

Today, i want to talk about a very important topic about our Chinese New Year. Every year on the first day of CNY, we will have all the lights in our house ON and all prepare to welcome a very important guest into our home. It is believed that this guest, once visit us, we'll be blessed with wealth.

This guest is no other than our Choi-San.

If you do not know the ritual to do a warm welcoming to Choi-San, you must read this post throughly. First, you must set up a table full of offerings. Like this.

Choi-San Dou

Fruits are essential because after a long journey to come to your house, of course it would be wise to serve something that quench the thirst. That is why fruits will be a good choice.

Fresh Fruits
Golden Bananas

Nin-gou is an auspicious desserts usually found at CNY period. It represents good future, with advancement every year.

Nin-Gou

Sometimes it would be very sweet of you to offer some sweets to Choi-San, so that he would have a sweet memory of you. Perhaps he might visit you again next year.

Sweet Memory

After setting up the table, it would be the time to send signal to Choi-San to come to your home. This is done by burning incense. From far, Choi-San can see the smoke signal, then only he will come. Therefore this is an important step.

Incense Burning

Make sure your table is something like this. Nothing less, only more.

Tada~!~!~!~!

After the visit to your home, Choi-San would need to proceed to someone else's home. Therefore, before he depart, it would be very thoughtful of you to have a toast with him.

Yaaaaaaaaam Seeeeeeeeeng~!~!~!~!

Of course, the reason we hope Choi-San will visit us is because we hope he would bring us prosperity in life. Therefore, we must pray from our hearts and ask with good intentions from Choi-San, and burn the talisman to him. Don't think this is old-fashion way. When you burn the talisman, you are actually converting analog wishes into digital form & send to Choi-San thru wireless services.

Wireless Solution

So this is basically the dummy's guide to welcome Choi-San to your home. In case you don't know how Choi-San looked like, this is a potrait of him. In case you met him, remember to invite him to your home for blessings of prosperity.

Choi-San Dou

Happy CNY.

Dong Zen Temple

I'm finally back to the life where being online is a daily routine, which also means i'm back to Cyberjaya again.

Well, CNY holiday officially ends, although CNY officially ends this coming Sunday.

I visited Dong Zen temple on last Sunday with some friends and their families. My main job of the day was to become the main photographer. i know lar my skill not very good, but then at least it's not bad either. Too bad i'm not going to post those pictures out, because being afraid they might sue me for putting up their faces without their permission.

But if you are planning to go Dong Zen Temple, but haven't got the chance to go there yet, you better find a way to go there soon. It's a very nice place to visit during this CNY.

Here are some of the picture taken in my style within the Dong Zen Temple premise.

Plant Sculpture
This is a plant sculpture of the face of Buddha outside the exhibition hall. This is consider one of the main attractions this year. There were not only one plant sculpture but more. The rest, if you are interested, you must see them yourselves at the temple.

Lord Buddha
Work of Art
These are the Buddha statue and sculpture inside the main hall.

Little Monk
The main theme last year, The Lumbini Garden, is still a very great attraction this year. Having the whole area surrounded with flowers, everyone was busy having pictures taken. It's so hard of me to get a chance to take a clear shot without people walking past in front my camera.

Hui Tou Shi An
Wui Tau Si Ngon.

Roof Tanglung
Tanglung
Light represents wisdom in Buddhism. That is why the whole temple is surrounded by red & yellow tanglungs.

Buddha Parade
The 3 statue, which glows at night, has been parading the whole day on top of a monorail-track-look-alike. I hope this is the main attraction this year, because all day long, i see people standing below the track & wait for the 3 statues to "walk" past.

Stars
Even the trees were decorated with lights.

Chun Dou Fook Loi
This big sign board was located at the main entrance to the temple. Those who know chinese knows what it means lar, but for those who don't know, it means Prosperity Comes This CNY.

There were also many other things to see & buy in Dong Zen Temple. If you are interested, and you are in MMU, you can visit DSG's blog for further information. This is a good chance, grab it while you still got the chance, okay?
